Diabetes is no longer foreign. Irrespective of age or genetic history, the condition can happen to anybody. However, it can be controlled with regular exercise and yoga practice every day. There are two types of diabetes- Type 1 (no production of insulin) and Type 2 (less production of insulin by pancreas).
Regular practice of yoga helps both as preventive measure and also to treat Type 2 diabetes. Yoga practice can help in reduction of sugar level in the blood along with keeping a weight check, maintaining blood pressure and reducing the symptoms of diabetes. Diabetes is also caused due to hypertension or high blood pressure. Yoga asanas help in reducing hypertension.
